Since this summer was about selling out house, we worked our fun around it. We needed to be away during the weekend of open houses and perfect timing, my moms group was planning a camping trip. It was the perfect thing to do, go camping. We joined in on the trip to Chabot Lake, close enough to come home should we need to get back to deal with any house issues and yes still close enough to be connected via IPhone to know (sad but true).
Despite several calls from brokers, we managed to have a good time. We took a boat tour of Chabot Lake, had great pot luck meals, and spent the evenings relaxing around a campfire (as much as we could relax given the circumstances). All in all, the boys had a great time and parents had a bit of down time.

Good Times
Summer has been full of good times here. I'm not sure why I had fantasized summer being full of lazy days, sipping cool drinks and being crafty with the kids. Although we have had a few of those days, summer with 3 young kids really has been busy busy busy, be it with good times but still busy. It takes time for Mommy (me)to prepare for those good times which really doesn't translate to lazy days.
I thought I'd share some of our good times...

Daddy and I out for a date night, enjoying a spectacular dinner at Pican celebrating our wedding anniversary.

A trip to Masse's Pastries for a sweet stroll down memory lane, a bite of their yummy tiramisu that we served as our wedding cake.

Enjoying family hiking trips, this one was at Redwood Trail.

A fabulous weekend camping with friends, enjoying spectacular views of wine country,

bike riding and

mini golf for the older boys,

a camp fire in preparation for.....

...yummy smores and

fun meals for all,

let's not forget the long awaited and all deserved hot tub time for the mommies. (I borrowed this photo from my friend Rachel's blog but I'm sure she won't mind)

Fun park outing and strolls with good friends.

Dreams of pure contentment..a sure sign that there's been lots of summertime fun to be had.
Needless to say I'm giving myself a break til the end of summer, with What We like Wednesdays, Artful Thursdays, and Friday Food. I'll post those when I can but if I miss it, it's because I'm off enjoying another summer day with the family. I do hope you are enjoying your summer as much as we are.

It's A Wild Turkey
There they are, wild turkeys here's 2 of many that were running around.Another summer camping trip, the last one for this summer. We camped at the same place (Chabot Lake) with a different group of friends including 10 kids between the ages of 4 and 1 1/2, and some wild turkeys. Yes that's right, wild turkeys. We saw them the last time we camped but this time they were up close to the campsite in midday. The kids were thrilled to see such big birds running around...so the kids went on a hunt, hunting for wild turkeys. Of course there was no way they were ever going to catch one. What they did catch was a lizard that they all clamored over to hold. We let the poor guy go after everyone got to hold him and pet him.
There was also smores fun. Miles and Liam could not be bothered with those..they were all about the roasted marshmallows. Who needs the chocolate and graham crackers when sticky gooey marshmallows were already soo yummy and fun to eat!
